Total expanding solar efforts
With news this week that Total announced the construction start-up of its fourth solar power plant in Japan. Global Energy Infrastructure looks at the other projects Total has in Japan and asks will the French oil giant become a major solar renewables player. Total has long been in the solar sector. As early as 1972 the company set up Total Energie Developpment which developed solar technologies and a research center. By 2005, the business was supplying power to customers in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Further developments, so by 2018 Total Solar was founded so now the company designs, builds and services ground-mounted photovoltaic power stations around the world. Through subsidiaries
