Total expanding solar efforts

With news this week that Total announced the construction start-up of its fourth solar power plant in Japan. Global Energy Infrastructure looks at the other projects Total has in Japan and asks will the French oil giant become a major solar renewables player. Total has long been in the solar sector. As early as 1972 the company set up Total Energie Developpment which developed solar technologies and a research center. By 2005, the business was supplying power to customers in Asia, Africa and Latin America.
