$700 Million Dollar Renewable Diesel Refinery Planned for Louisiana
Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards and Strategic Biofuels LLC CEO Paul Schubert recently announced that Strategic BioFuels subsidiary, Louisiana Green Fuels, will develop a renewable diesel facility at the Port of Columbia in Louisiana. The project is undergoing feasibility and financing tasks now and is working towards a final investment decision by the end of 2022.
This plant is being designed to have a production capacity of 32 million gallons per year of renewable diesel from a feedstock consisting of wood waste. In the statement from Strategic BioFuels, there is an estimated cost figure of $700 million dollars has been attributed towards its development. Once a final investment decision has been made, this project is anticipated to begin early operation by mid-2025.
