Maire Tecnimont Wins EPCC Contract in India

In early July, Maire Tecnimont S.p.A. of Italy announced that its subsidiaries Tecnimont S.p.A. and Tecnimont Private Ltd have formed a consortium that has won an EPCC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning) contract by Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) for a new polypropylene plant in Barauni, India. Maire Tecnimont stated that the overall contract value was for $170 million USD.

This new polypropylene plant will have a 200,000 tons per year capacity with an anticipated startup in 2023.  This plant is part of IOCL’s initiative to expand production at the Barauni refinery complex by way of revamps, upgrades, and grassroot additions such as this polypropylene facility.  IOCL has been endeavoring to meet India’s growing demand for value added products as the country seeks to build on its domestic manufacturing industry.
