LyondellBasell Wins Licensing Agreement for Indonesian Petrochemical Plant

LyondellBasell of the Netherlands recently announced that it will provide its Spheripol processing technology for PT Polytama Propindo’s upcoming expansion of polypropylene production at their existing site in Indonesia.

This technology will be utilized for processing needs at a 300,000 tons per year polypropylene plant to built in Balongan, West Java, Indonesia with a startup date anticipated by the end of 2024. LyondellBasell’s Spheripol technology has been the technology used at the overall Balongan site for over 20 years as the complex has produced what LyondellBasell considers to be “high value polypropylene resins.”
