Energia Costa Azul reaches FID Sempra Energy announced that its subsidiary ECA Liquefaction (ECA LNG), a joint venture between Sempra LNG and Infraestructura Energetica Nova (IEnova), had reached a final investment decision (FID) for the development, construction and operation of the ECA LNG Phase I export project in Baja California, Mexico. ECA LNG Phase I will be built and operated by Sempra LNG and IEnova as a single train with a nameplate capacity of 3.25m t/y. It will be the first LNG export facility on the Pacific coast of North America to tap into abundant gas reserves in Texas, with commissioning expected in late 2024.
