Venture Global Announces LNG Sales and Purchase Agreements with Chevron

Venture Global announced the execution of two long-term Sales and Purchase Agreements (SPAs) for the purchase of two million tonnes per annum (2MTPA) of liquefied natural gas (LNG) for 20 years. Under the agreements, Chevron U.S.A. Inc. will purchase 1MTPA from the Plaquemines LNG facility and 1MTPA from CP2 LNG. Plaquemines LNG has been under full construction since August of 2021 and the construction of CP2 LNG is expected to commence in 2023.

Cheniere Announces Positive Final Investment Decision on the Corpus Christi Stage 3 Liquefaction Project

Cheniere Energy, Inc. announced today that its Board of Directors has made a positive Financial Investment Decision (“FID”) with respect to the 10+ million tonnes per annum of LNG Corpus Christi Stage 3 Liquefaction Project (“CCL Stage 3”) and has issued full notice to proceed to Bechtel Energy Inc. to continue construction on CCL Stage 3, which began earlier this year under limited notice to proceed.

Cheniere and Chevron Sign Long-Term LNG Sale and Purchase Agreements

Cheniere Energy, Inc. announced today that two of its subsidiaries, Sabine Pass Liquefaction, LLC and Cheniere Marketing, LLC, have each entered into long-term liquefied natural gas sale and purchase agreements with Chevron U.S.A. Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Chevron Corporation. At plateau, Chevron will purchase a combined 2.0 million tonnes per annum of LNG from Cheniere subsidiaries, subject to certain conditions.

According to the agreement, EnBW will purchase 0.75 MTPA from Plaquemines LNG and 0.75 MTPA from CP2 LNG for 20 years. EnBW becomes the next European customer of Venture Global, who already announced agreements with PGNiG, BP, Shell, Repsol, Edison and GALP.

Venture Global Announces Final Investment Decision and Financial Close for Plaquemines LNG

Today Venture Global LNG is announcing a final investment decision (FID) and successful closing of the $13.2 billion project financing for the initial phase (an upsized 13.33 MTPA) of the Plaquemines LNG facility and the associated Gator Express pipeline. Nutrien Announces Intention to Build Clean Ammonia Production Facility

Nutrien Ltd. announced that it is evaluating Geismar, LA as the site to build the world’s largest clean ammonia facility. Building on the company’s expertise in low-carbon ammonia production, clean ammonia will be manufactured using innovative technology to achieve at least a 90 percent reduction in CO2 emissions. The project will proceed to the front-end engineering design (FEED) phase, with a final investment decision expected to follow in 2023. Venture Global LNG announced the execution of two new long-term Sales and Purchase Agreements (SPAs) with ExxonMobil LNG Asia Pacific (EMLAP) for the sale of 2 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of liquefied natural gas (LNG). Under the agreements, the ExxonMobil affiliate will purchase 1 MTPA from the Plaquemines LNG facility (Plaquemines) as well as 1 MTPA from the CP2 LNG facility (CP2). This is the second supply agreement for CP2, which is expected to commence construction in 2023. Both facilities will replicate the same successful innovative design seen in operation today at Calcasieu Pass, where speed of execution resulted in the production of first LNG only 29 months after FID.
