Canada's TC Energy Gets Approval to Expand NGTL Gas Pipeline System
(Reuters) — The Canadian government on Wednesday approved an expansion to TC Energy's NOVA Gas Transmission Ltd (NGTL) pipeline system in Alberta, which will help improve market access for western Canadian natural gas. The West Path Delivery 2023 (WP2023) project will add about 40 km (25 miles) of new natural gas pipeline to the existing 25,000-km (15,534 miles) NGTL system, which ships gas across Canada and to U.S. markets.

Ohmium International, Inc., a green hydrogen company that designs, manufactures, and deploys PEM Electrolyzers, plans to provide the electrolyzers for the project. New technology allows for the combustion of zero-carbon fuels to provide the same controllable power without the associated emissions from fossil natural gas.

Shell Begins Operations at Polymers Plant in Pennsylvania
Shell Chemical Appalachia LLC, a subsidiary of Shell plc, today announced it has commenced operations of its Pennsylvania Chemical project, Shell Polymers Monaca (SPM). The Pennsylvania facility is the first major polyethylene manufacturing complex in the Northeastern United States and has a designed output of 1.6 million tonnes annually.

Energy Transfer to Supply Shell 2.1 Million Tonnes of LNG per Annum from its Lake Charles LNG Export Facility Under 20-Year Agreement
Energy Transfer LP today announced its subsidiary, Energy Transfer LNG Export, LLC, has entered into a 20-year LNG Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Shell NA LNG LLC related to its Lake Charles LNG project. Under the SPA, Energy Transfer LNG will supply Shell 2.1 million tonnes of LNG per annum (mtpa). The LNG will be supplied on a free-on-board (FOB) basis and the purchase price will be indexed to the Henry Hub benchmark, plus a fixed liquefaction charge. The first deliveries are expected to commence as early as 2026. The SPA will become fully effective upon the satisfaction of the conditions precedent, including Energy Transfer LNG taking a final investment decision (FID).
