Mexico's New Olmeca Oil Refinery Now Expected to reach 243,000 bpd in 2024
Pemex CEO Octavio Romero has estimated that the Dos Bocas (AKA Olmeca) refinery will process 243,000 bpd of crude in 2024, with a full peak of 340,000 bpd in 2025.
The Olmeca refinery is planned to produce a combined 274,000 bpd of gasoline, diesel and jet fuel by the time President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador leaves office in September.
This refinery has had multiple delays, such as missed startup targets and budget overruns. It had previously been expected by the previous Energy Minister Rocio Nahle for a full capacity run in 2023, but that is now expected this year.
