Aramco JV HAPCO to Commence Construction of Major Refinery and Petrochemical Complex in China

Aramco and joint venture partners NORINCO Group and Panjin Xincheng Industrial Group plan to start construction of a major integrated refinery and petrochemical complex in northeast China.

Technip Energies has been Awarded a Contract by CNOOC and Shell Petrochemicals Company Ltd. (CSPC) for the Huizhou Phase III ethylene cracker located in Huizhou, Guangdong Province, China.

Technip Energies is providing the proprietary technology and process design for CSPC’s 1,600 KTA(1) ethylene plant. This liquid ethylene cracker pioneers the use of a low CO2 furnace design and electrification of major compressors. The plant is anticipated to have 20% lower CO2 emissions than a similar conventional facility and will be able to maximize benefit from the rapidly decarbonizing power grid for future CO2 emission reduction.

WESTPORT ANNOUNCES PLAN TO INVEST UP TO $10 MILLION USD IN GLOBAL MANUFACTURING FACILITY IN CHANGZHOU HYDROGEN VALLEY, CHINA

Westport Fuel Systems Inc., a global leader in low-emissions alternative fuel transportation technologies, announced plans today to expand its global manufacturing footprint in China in support of future growth of Westport’s hydrogen componentry business and other alternative fuel system technologies. Westport is focusing on China for this manufacturing expansion as China leads the world in hydrogen investment and infrastructure development. The investment agreement provides for the City of Changzhou to build the new hydrogen innovation center and manufacturing facility in the Changzhou Hydrogen Valley.

Shell Catalyst & Technologies Signs on to Provide Technology to Upcoming CSPC Phase 3 Project in China

CNOOC and Shell Petrochemicals Company Limited (CSPC), incorporated by China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) and Shell, is one of the largest petrochemicals joint ventures in China. Following the success and outstanding performance of their existing Phase I and II projects, CSPC Phase III will include a new 1.6-MMtpy cracker, creating one of the world’s largest and most flexible integrated complexes. Sinopec Breaks Ground on Green Hydrogen Project

The world's largest integrated green hydrogen production project, which will be applied at a nearby coal chemical plant, kicked off construction in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Thursday, operator China Petrochemical Corp said.

PetroChina again selects differentiated LyondellBasell Polyethylene (PE) technology

LyondellBasell announced today that PetroChina Jilin Petrochemical Company will again license LyondellBasell’s polyethylene technology at their facility located in Jilin City, Jilin Province, P.R. of China. The newly licensed technology will comprise of LyondellBasell’s leading high-pressure Lupotech process technology which will be used for both a 100 kiloton per year (KTA) Autoclave and a 300 KTA Tubular line. Both production trains will produce mainly low-density polyethylene (LDPE) with ethylene vinyl acetate copolymers (EVA). Furthermore, an additional 400 KTA Hostalen “Advanced Cascade Process” (ACP) line for the production of high density polyethylene (HDPE) will be built at the same time.

TOPSOE SIGNS AGREEMENT ON FIRST COMMERCIAL SIZE DYNAMIC GREEN AMMONIA PLANT IN CHINA

Topsoe has been chosen by Mintal Hydrogen Energy Technology (Mintal Hydrogen) as technology provider for a new green ammonia plant in Baotou, Inner Mongolia, China The new plant will be the first dynamic green ammonia plant in China. The first phase will have a capacity of 1800 tons per day with expected start of production in 2025 The green ammonia will replace app. 850,000 tons of coal and help reduce more than 2 million tons of CO2 from being emitted to the atmosphere every year.

INEOS and SINOPEC sign Joint Venture agreement for a brand new petrochemicals complex in Tianjin, China

INEOS and SINOPEC have today announced a new Joint Venture agreement that will see INEOS acquire a 50% share in the existing Tianjin Nangang Ethylene Project from SINOPEC. The project is currently building a 1.2 million tonne ethane cracker, expected to come on-stream at the end of 2023, and downstream derivative plants in Tianjin, China.
