Borouge Signs Project Collaboration Agreement for Speciality Polyolefins Complex in China as Part of Consortium

Borouge Plc, a leading petrochemicals company providing innovative and differentiated polyolefins solutions, today announced an acceleration of its growth plans in its core Asia market, through a strategic consortium, aimed at developing a speciality polyolefins complex in China. The consortium, comprising Borouge, ADNOC and Borealis, has signed a Project Collaboration Agreement (PCA) with China’s Wanhua Chemical and Wanrong New Materials (Fujian), a subsidiary controlled by Wanhua Chemical.

Stamicarbon (MAIRE Group) Awarded a Process Design Package to Reduce Energy Consumption of a Dual-line Urea plant in China

Stamicarbon, the nitrogen technology licensor of the MAIRE engineering group, will deliver a Process Design Package for Qinghai Yuntianhua International Fertilizer Co., Ltd. to revamp its dual-line urea plant in Qinghai Province, China. The urea plant is comprised of two identical lines, each with a capacity of 1212 MTPD, utilizing prilling as finishing technology. The proposed revamp design will be implemented in both lines simultaneously.

SABIC Fujian Petrochemicals Co., Ltd. Proceeds with Large-Scale Ethylene Project Integrating Multiple Lummus Technologies and Services

Lummus Technology, a global provider of process technologies and value-driven energy solutions, announced that SABIC Fujian Petrochemical Co., Ltd.’s grassroots complex in Fujian Province, China, will leverage Lummus’ ethylene and co-monomer technologies. SABIC Fujian Petrochemicals Co., Ltd. is a joint venture between SABIC Industrial Investment Company (wholly owned by SABIC) and Fujian Fuhua Gulei Petrochemical Co., Ltd. (holding by Fujian Energy and Petrochemical Group). Formed in 2022, SABIC Fujian Petrochemicals Co., Ltd. is a 51:49 joint venture, with SABIC being the majority owner. On January 22, 2024, SABIC announced the final investment decision for the SABIC Fujian Petrochemical Complex (Sino-Saudi Gulei Ethylene Complex Project) and plans to begin construction this year and expects to complete construction in 2026. The complex is the largest single investment joint venture project with foreign investment in Fujian Province to date.

Clariant’s SynDane® catalyst chosen for Shenghong’s new world-scale biodegradable plastics project

Clariant, a sustainability-focused specialty chemical company, today announced that it has been awarded a major contract by Jiangsu Shenghong Petrochemical Co., Ltd, to use Clariant’s SynDane 3142 LA catalyst for its new maleic anhydride (MA) production plant in Lianyungang, Jiangsu province, China. CNOOC Limited Announces China's First Offshore CCS Demonstration Project Commissioned

On June 1, CNOOC Limited announced the official commissioning of China's first offshore CCS demonstration project. The CCS project is an auxiliary part of the Enping 15-1 oilfields development. Enping 15-1 oilfield is located in the Pearl River Mouth Basin, about 190 kilometers southwest of Hong Kong, with an average water depth of approximately 80 meters and has a high carbon dioxide content.

Sichuan Jinshang Environmental Protection Technology Co. To Produce Sustainable Aviation Fuel Utilizing Honeywell Ecofining Technology

Honeywell today announced that Sichuan Jinshang Environmental Protection Technology Co. (JSRE) will use Honeywell EcofiningTM technology to produce nearly 300,000 tons per year (approximately 6,000 barrels per day) of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) at its newly planned facility in Suining, Sichuan Province, China. Technip Energies has been Awarded a Contract by CNOOC and Shell Petrochemicals Company Ltd. (CSPC) for the Huizhou Phase III ethylene cracker located in Huizhou, Guangdong Province, China.

Technip Energies is providing the proprietary technology and process design for CSPC’s 1,600 KTA(1) ethylene plant. This liquid ethylene cracker pioneers the use of a low CO2 furnace design and electrification of major compressors. The plant is anticipated to have 20% lower CO2 emissions than a similar conventional facility and will be able to maximize benefit from the rapidly decarbonizing power grid for future CO2 emission reduction.

Sinopec Breaks Ground on Green Hydrogen Project

PetroChina again selects differentiated LyondellBasell Polyethylene (PE) technology

LyondellBasell announced today that PetroChina Jilin Petrochemical Company will again license LyondellBasell’s polyethylene technology at their facility located in Jilin City, Jilin Province, P.R. of China. The newly licensed technology will comprise of LyondellBasell’s leading high-pressure Lupotech process technology which will be used for both a 100 kiloton per year (KTA) Autoclave and a 300 KTA Tubular line. Both production trains will produce mainly low-density polyethylene (LDPE) with ethylene vinyl acetate copolymers (EVA). Furthermore, an additional 400 KTA Hostalen “Advanced Cascade Process” (ACP) line for the production of high density polyethylene (HDPE) will be built at the same time.

TOPSOE SIGNS AGREEMENT ON FIRST COMMERCIAL SIZE DYNAMIC GREEN AMMONIA PLANT IN CHINA

Topsoe has been chosen by Mintal Hydrogen Energy Technology (Mintal Hydrogen) as technology provider for a new green ammonia plant in Baotou, Inner Mongolia, China The new plant will be the first dynamic green ammonia plant in China.
