Enbridge invests in additional solar facilities for a lower-carbon future

In an effort to address climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions Enbridge Inc., is developing a second solar facility in Pennsylvania to help power the Heidlersburg Compressor Station supplying the Texas Eastern Transmission Pipeline. The Heidlersburg Solar Project in Tyrone Township, PA, will supply 2.5 megawatts (MW) of solar energy to the Heidlersburg Compressor Station to keep gas flowing along the Texas Eastern Transmission Pipeline. The $6.5-million project is expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 73,200 metric tons over the 25-year life of the facility, which is scheduled to come online in early 2021.
