Malaysia Looks to a Third Floater
Petronas has issued a front-end engineering and design (FEED) tender for its third floating LNG (FLNG) vessel. This would be Petronas’ third FLNG vessel in operation after the 1.2m t/y PFLNG I (PFLNG Satu) located on the Kebabangan Cluster field since successfully relocating in 2019 from the Kanowit field, and the larger 1.5m t/y PFLNG II (PFLNG Dua) located on the Rotan field, commissioned earlier this year. A final investment decision (FID) is expected to be taken during the second half of 2022 for the 2m t/y vessel, which unsurprisingly will be named PFLNG III (PFLNG Tiga). It too is expected to be located offshore Borneo, but the exact deployment will become clear after FID. Malaysia c
