W.R. Grace Licenses its UNIPOL PP Process Technology for Uzbekistan’s MTO Complex

W.R. Grace of Maryland recently announced that it has indeed licensed its UNIPOL PP Process Technology to Enter Engineering of Singapore for the upcoming Methanol to Olefins (MTO) Gas Chemical Complex in the Bukhara region of Uzbekistan. Enter Engineering will act as the licensee on behalf of the MTO Complex’s owner and operator, Jizzakh Petroleum LLC.

The MTO facility in Uzbekistan includes a new reactor line utilizing the UNIPOL technology to allow for a production capacity of 257,000 tpy of polypropylene.  This MTO complex is expected to begin by 2025 and is designed to use a domestic feedstock of natural gas to produce petrochemical products for both export purposes and for high demand products regionally.
