NextChem wins FEED Contract for TotalEnergies’ Renewable Project

Maire Tecnimont SPA recently announced that its subsidiary NextChem has won a contract from TotalEnergies for the purpose of completing Front-End Engineering Design duties for the developing renewable production activities at TotalEnergies’ Grandpuit complex in France.
The Grandpruit project is intended to have a production capacity of 400,000 tpy of sustainable aviation fuel, due in 2024. This biofuel will come from primarily animal fats and used cooking oil as France is endeavoring to use 2% sustainable aviation fuels by 2025 and 5% by 2030. In addition to FEED duties, NextChem will also provide processing and engineering documentation for this project. No contract value or delivery timeframe was announced at this time.
