TotalEnergies sees strong demand for regasification in response to its market test for planned Le Havre LNG Terminal.

The market test for Le Havre, France, FSRU LNG Import Terminal Capacity launched by TotalEnergies, has ended.

From January 16 to 30, TotalEnergies LNG Services France (TELSF), a TotalEnergies’ affiliate, ran a non-binding call of interest (the Market Test) for LNG import and regasification capacity to be made available at Le Havre FSRU from September 2023: up to 2.5 billion cubic meters per year for five years. Demand expressed during the Market Test significantly exceeded available capacity. Several market players expressed a high level of interest for an aggregated amount close to 12 billion cubic meters per year over the five-year period.

This success illustrates market’s appetite for additional LNG regasification capacity to meet French demand as well as the need to strengthen the security of gas supply.
