Europe's first carbon-neutral LNG

Shell Global LNG recently took delivery of the first ever carbon-neutral LNG cargo in Europe from Gazprom. The cargo was unloaded from the 174,000cm LNG Megrez at the 4.4m t/y Dragon LNG import terminal in Milford Haven, Wales, and will enable Shell to supply further carbon-neutral gas to the UK domestic market. The cargo was sourced from Novatek’s, 3-train, 16.5m t/y Yamal LNG. According to Shell, an average LNG cargo of about 70,000 tonnes emits approximately 240,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) across the value chain.
