Indian Refiners in Line for Iranian Oil

Indian refineries could very well be preparing to start buying oil from Iran as early as the second half of this year, if U.S. sanctions on the country are indeed lifted.  Iran and world powers have been discussing this as a possibility since last month, and Iranian president Hassan Rouhani has been optimistic in recent weeks that this will indeed happen. U.S. sanctions were reinstated by former United States President Donald Trump in 2018, and India was buying approximately 480,000 barrels per day from Iran until that decision was made.  India ceased oil imports from Iran altogether in 2019 after a waiver allowing its continuation had expired.   As talk around this pact has increased, some
