Maire Tecnimont SpA Signs on for Two New EPC Contracts at the Heydar Aliyev Baku Refinery
Maire Tecnimont SpA of Italy announced on February 3, 2021 that two of its subsidiaries will provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services as part of the modernization program underway at the Heydar Aliyev Oil refinery in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The two subsidiaries, Tecnimont S.p.A. and KT - Kinetics Technology S.p.A., includes in the respective first contract to include an FCC gasoline hydrotreating unit, with the other contract will provide an LPG mercaptan oxidation unit, an amine treatment unit, and an LPG pretreatment unit. Maire Tecnimont announced in its statement that these new installations are crucial pieces of the refinery’s plan to upgrade the gasoline produced to the Euro-V standard.
The combined value of the two contracts was given as $160 million USD, with the work to be completed within a respective 33 months and 26 months from this recent signing date.
