Calumet Awards EPC Contract to Burns & McDonnell for Renewable Diesel Project

Calumet Specialty Products Partners of Indiana has brought on Burns & McDonnell to serve as the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for an upcoming renewable diesel reconfiguration project at the Great Falls facility in Montana.  This project is being fast tracked with the intention of starting up new production in the first half of 2022.

This revamp at the Great Falls site involves the reconfiguration of an existing hydrocracker onsite to produce 12,000 barrels per day of renewable diesel. Aside from the initial renewable diesel production, the project plans to include renewable hydrogen production and a forward-looking option for aviation fuel flexibility.  Calumet has tasked Burns and McDonnell for a variety of services at this project such as front-end engineering, detailed design engineering, the procurement of necessary equipment and materials, and the construction process itself.  No contract value was stated at this time.
