Triangle Energy Plans Renewable Refinery in Australia

Triangle Energy Limited of Australia announced recently that FEED studies had begun for a proposed 5,000 barrel per day renewable refinery in Western Australia.  This refinery would be modular in design and have a flexible feedstock ability.

This Renewable Fuel Refinery, or RFR, will be able to process crude, condensates, and bio-crude feedstocks in order to produce primarily renewable diesel fuel. Triangle Energy has contracted Plant Process Group, LLC of the United States as their preferred contractor for the undertaking of this FEED study, which is due to complete in the first quarter of 2022.  Triangle Energy hopes to announce first production in early 2024.

This renewable project was envisioned to add some production capacity to Australia, since BP’s long running Kwinana refinery was converted over to fuel import terminal purposes earlier this year.
