Project Havelstoff secures the sale of 4,000 tons of Green Hydrogen per year.

Press Release - Plagazi

Plagazi AB has signed a letter of intent (LOI) together with WIRTZ Energie + Mineralöl GmbH with the intent to form a long-term offtake agreement of 4’000 tons of green hydrogen, and potentially for e-fuels, produced in Plagazi’s German flagship project Havelstoff located in Brandenburg and run together with Neue Energien Premnitz. The estimated amount of hydrogen that Wirtz will source, covers the yearly production of one Plagazi HE-2000 unit and the parties have agreed upon an indicative price of EUR 7 per kilogram of H2.

Wirtz is a regional and brand-independent supplier of fuels, lubricants, additives, AdBlue, tank protection/cleaning services and operates commercial filling stations. Wirtz has recently allocated budgets and operating plans that reflect the world’s commitment towards net-zero emissions. By committing to purchasing green hydrogen from project Havelstoff, Wirtz has taken a big step towards the world’s shift from fossil fuels for a sustainable future.

“Securing such an important offtaker of green hydrogen for our large-scale project in Brandenburg is a crucial step in towards its start-of-production. The collaboration between the company and Wirtz is based on a mutual interest to protect the environment and produce renewable energy sources.  The collaboration has been formed with the intention to establish a long-term offtake relationship beneficial for both parties. Wirtz has an initial need of 4’000 tons of green hydrogen which is a large portion of the total annual production, making the collaboration highly important for the project and ultimately for the company.” - Torsten Granberg, CEO Plagazi AB
