Nextchem (Maire) Awarded a Licensing and Equipment Supply Contract Based on its Proprietary Technology for a New Urea Melt and Granulation Plant in Egypt.

NEXTCHEM’s licensor Stamicarbon will provide its proprietary technology and equipment for a urea melt and granulation plant expected to produce 1,050 metric tonnes per day of urea

Milan, 26 February 2024 — MAIRE (MAIRE.MI) announces that NEXTCHEM (Sustainable TechnologySolutions), through its nitrogen technology licensor Stamicarbon, has been awarded a licensing andequipment supply contract for a state-of-the-art urea melt and granulation plant in Egypt for El-Nasr Company for Intermediate Chemicals (NCIC). The plant is expected to have a production capacity of 1,050 metric tonnes per day of urea and will be located in an area 100 km southeast of Cairo

.The Stamicarbon’s technology selected by NCIC plays a pivotal role for the urea melt and granulation plant, especially in terms of process optimization, operational safety, enhancing yield and minimizingenergy consumption. NCIC is one of the key players in the chemical and fertilizer industry in Egypt, embracing cutting-edge nitrogen technologies able to ensure superior product quality.
