Expanding Texan footprint

Clearway Energy Group (CEG) announced that it had closed financing and commenced construction on its second largest windfarm in Texas. The 69-turbine, 345MW Mesquite Sky in Callahan county is expected to reach commercial operations in late 2021. Construction is being led by EPC partner Blattner Energy, with the turbines being supplied by Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy. It will join the eight CEG projects already in operation in the state, with a total nameplate capacity of over 1,250MW, including the 118-turbine, 419MW Mesquite Star in Fisher county, the 70-turbine, 161MW Wildorado in Vega, the 100-turbine, 160MW Langford in Christoval, and the 100-turbine, 150MW Cedro Hill in Bruni.
