Mayflower Next Up in Massachusetts

Following on from Vineyard Wind’s final approval, Mayflower Wind is next up seeking permits at the start of the so-called “offshore wind era”. The 84-turbine, 800MW Vineyard Wind I project, a JV between Avangrid Renewables and CIP, received Record of Decision from the US Department of the Interior Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), the final major step in the federal review process for the first commercial-scale offshore windfarm in the US. The $3.0 billion project is expected to be commissioned in 2023.
