PBF Energy Progresses Renewable Project in Louisiana

PBF Energy recently announced that it was in preliminary discussions with Honeywell UOP for licensing technology at its proposed renewable diesel project at its Chalmette Refinery in Louisiana.  PBF is hoping to make a final investment decision on the potential project over the next few months.

This project involves the conversion of a currently idle hydrocracking unit at the plant into a single stage renewable diesel production unit with an eventual production capacity of 20,000 barrels per day renewable diesel.  Honeywell is in preliminary contract discussions to provide its Ecofining process for this unit, which would then produce Honeywell Green Diesel fuel, which is a chemically identical drop-in replacement for standard petroleum diesel. GEI analysts will continue to monitor updates and any new agreements for this project.
