Indonesia’s LINE Project Assigns EPC Duties

LOTTE Chemical recently announced that its subsidiary, PT LOTTE Chemical Indonesia that it will be assigning engineering, procurement, and construction contracts for the company’s upcoming $3.95 billion dollar Lotte Chemical Indonesia New Ethylene (“LINE”) petrochemical project in Merak, Cilegon, Banten Province, Indonesia.

The onshore contracts are signed with a joint venture of Hyundai Engineering and PT Hans Enjiniring dan Konstrucksi named PT HEIN Global Utama and covers the construction of a cracker plant with the capacity for 1 MMtpy of ethylene and 520,000 tpy of propylene with a contract value of $757.2 million. Further work packages were also signed for downstream works and other infrastructure with LOTTE Engineering & Construction and PT Jaya Teknik Konstruksi.

LOTTE Chemical President and CEO Mr. Park Hyun Chul stated that “With the latest development, all the pivotal aspects of the construction of the Indonesia LINE Project are now in place and we are set to commence the full project construction this year and the project will be slated for completion by 2025.”
