Floating Along Nicely

According to research by trade association RenewableUK, the orderbook for global offshore floating wind projects currently stands at 54GW. The orderbook includes all possible projects, including those in early-stage development through to operational. Over half of the 54GW total is to be found in Europe (30.9GW, 57%), with the UK leading the way with 8.8GW. Other key players in Europe include Ireland with 7.7GW, Sweden with 6.2GW and Italy with 3.7GW, whilst France, Norway and Spain also have plans to deploy floating wind at utility-scale.
