Ethanol bets big on CCS, but its role in decarbonisation remains fuzzy
by Seth Haskell, CCS Research Ethanol punches above its weight in US carbon capture and storage (CCS) installations, accounting for 70pc of the announced capture sites expected to come online by the end of 2028 despite making up just 2pc of the US primary energy mix. In comparison, natural gas..
CNOOC Limited Announces China's First Offshore CCS Demonstration Project Commissioned
On June 1, CNOOC Limited announced the official commissioning of China's first offshore CCS demonstration project. The CCS project is an auxiliary part of the Enping 15-1 oilfields development. Enping 15-1 oilfield is located in the Pearl River Mouth Basin, about 190 kilometers southwest of Hong Kong, with an average water depth of approximately 80 meters and has a high carbon dioxide content.
GEI Carbon Capture Storage Database - coming soon
Addressing the challenges of climate change requires innovative solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology has emerged as a promising approach to mitigate carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from energy-intensive industries and power generation. To support the advancement and deployment of CCS, the new Global Energy Infrastructure (GEI) Carbon Capture Storage Database provides a comprehensive collection of information and data related to CCS projects worldwide.
