The plant is expected to be operational in early 2024.

bp has signed a ten-year offtake agreement with Clean Planet Energy, a UK-based company that is developing facilities to convert hard-to-recycle waste plastics into circular petrochemical feedstocks and also into ultra-low sulphur diesel (ULSD). Clean Planet Energy designs and builds facilities – which they refer to as ecoPlants – that are expected to process plastics typically rejected by traditional recycling centres and so would otherwise be sent to landfill or incineration.
Uniper to build Germany's first LNG terminal – aim is to diversify natural gas supply sources
At a press conference in Wilhelmshaven today, several important news items for Germany's energy future were announced: Federal Minister Robert Habeck and the Lower Saxony Ministers Olaf Lies and Bernd Althusmann set the "first pile driving" for the construction of the first terminal for liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Germany. Uniper, as builder and operator of the terminal, will invest around €65 million.

Wintershall Dea’s project, BlueHyNow, will be developed on the German North Sea coast at Wilhelmshaven. Wilhelmshaven already boasts strong, networked infrastructure: two nearby landing points for gas from Norway, the possibility of hydrogen storage in neighbouring facilities, and a direct link to the planned German hydrogen network. It has a deep-water port where large tankers can also dock. And CO2 can also be transported from Wilhelmshaven. Work on setting up a first LNG terminal in the coastal town in Northern Germany is now also beginning.

Gasunie, HES International (HES) and Vopak will be working together to develop an import terminal for green ammonia as a hydrogen carrier. The companies have signed a cooperation agreement to that effect. The cooperation is a response to growing global demand for the import and storage of green energy. This quarter, work will be started on the basic design of the import terminal. The terminal, that will operate on the Maasvlakte under the name ACE Terminal, will be operational from 2026.
SGN to deliver £29.9m national strategic hydrogen transmission and storage project

Following the latest developments in relation to the construction of an energy terminal in Brunsbüttel, German LNG Terminal GmbH and Shell have now signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the import of LNG through the terminal. In it, they agree that Shell will make a long-term booking of a substantial part of the Brunsbüttel terminal’s capacity for the import of LNG. Both parties are currently working towards a binding agreement on the scope and duration of their partnership, and hope to complete it as soon as possible.
