RWE and Hyphen Hydrogen Energy (Hyphen) have signed a memorandum of understanding that could see RWE offtake up to 300,000 tons of green ammonia* per year from Namibia.

TES and EWE to build 500-MW electrolyzer at Wilhelmshaven Green Energy Hub
Tree Energy Solutions (TES) and EWE are delighted to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to build an electrolyzer in TES’ Green Energy Hub in Wilhelmshaven. The electrolyzer is to be installed and operated starting in 2028. The planned capacity of the electrolyzer is 500 MW and one more unit is planned to reach a total capacity of 1 GW. This MoU is in line with Germany’s strategic energy policy to develop clean energy generated by the North Sea and broaden the possible supply for H2. The signing marks a joint interest in delivering national energy security as Germany continues to diversify its energy supply from renewable energy sources.

NovoHydrogen and TigerGenCo, LLC (TGC) announced today their intent to advance development of green hydrogen capacity to reduce reliance on natural gas at the Bayonne Energy Center located in New Jersey and serving power to New York City via a sub-Hudson cable. NovoHydrogen, a leader in deploying and commercializing successful innovative energy transition technologies, will develop and operate the hydrogen production facility to reduce Bayonne's carbon emissions while continuing to provide reliable electricity supply to the New York Metro area. Ohmium International, Inc., a green hydrogen company that designs, manufactures, and deploys PEM Electrolyzers, plans to provide the electrolyzers for the project. New technology allows for the combustion of zero-carbon fuels to provide the same controllable power without the associated emissions from fossil natural gas.
pHYnix contracts Cummins for 10MW electrolyzer
It will have a production capacity that will progressively reach 4.3 tons of hydrogen per day. The plant located in Alcázar de San Juan has just laid its first stone and is expected to come into operation at the beginning of 2024. Vitale is one of the first European renewable hydrogen production plants and the first in Spain to have different uses on a commercial scale: direct supply to local industrial customers, transport and mobility through distribution to hydrogen filling stations, known as HRS, and finally, injection into the gas network or blending.
Flexens and KIP to develop Finland’s largest H2 plant planned in Kokkola
Project developer Flexens Oy Ab and KIP Infra Oy, part of Kokkola city council, have signed a letter of intent regarding a land lease agreement for a facility with a H2 production capacity of approximately 300 megawatts (MW) in the Kokkola Industrial Park area. Such a facility would certify a strengthened energy and ammonia self-sufficiency for Finland. Production of mainly green H2 and ammonia is meant to start running at the end of 2027. The Finnish Minister of Economic Affairs, Mika Lintilä, considers this good news for both Central Ostrobothnia and the development of the Finnish H2 economy.

IPCEI Hy2USE to fund joint projects in Gela and Taranto
Two projects by Italian multinational corporations Enel Green Power and Eni to develop green hydrogen through electrolyzers fueled by renewable energy will receive public funding approved under IPCEI Hy2Use, a project of common European interest aimed at supporting research and innovation and construction of related infrastructure to enable the first industrial applications of hydrogen. Both electrolysis systems are to be installed at the Eni Biorefinery in Gela and near the Eni Refinery in Taranto.
