IPCEI Hy2USE to fund joint projects in Gela and Taranto

Two projects by Italian multinational corporations Enel Green Power and Eni to develop green hydrogen through electrolyzers fueled by renewable energy will receive public funding approved under IPCEI Hy2Use, a project of common European interest aimed at supporting research and innovation and construction of related infrastructure to enable the first industrial applications of hydrogen. Both electrolysis systems are to be installed at the Eni Biorefinery in Gela and near the Eni Refinery in Taranto.

CF Industries, a leading global manufacturer of hydrogen and nitrogen products, has entered into the largest-of-its-kind commercial agreement with ExxonMobil to capture and permanently store up to 2 million metric tons of CO2 emissions annually from its manufacturing complex in Louisiana. Start-up for the project is scheduled for early 2025 and supports Louisiana’s objective of net zero CO2 emissions by 2050.

Prairie Energy Partners Ponders Texas or Oklahoma for New Refinery Site

Prairie Energy Partners LLC, a subsidiary of Southern Rock Energy Partners LLC of Texas, has begun the process of site selection for its proposed $5.6 billion refinery complex, which is expected to be a next generation complex with a focus on decarbonization technologies. According to the Texas operator, the sites being considered are in Victoria County, Texas and Lincoln County, Oklahoma.

Hungary, Serbia Agree to Build Pipeline to Ship Russian Oil to Serbia

Hungary and Serbia have agreed to build a pipeline to supply Serbia with Russian Urals crude via the Druzhba oil pipeline as Belgrade's shipments via Croatia fall under EU sanctions, the Hungarian government said on Monday. Last week the European Union agreed on new restrictions against Russia over its war against Ukraine, which include an oil price cap for Russian seaborne crude deliveries to third countries. Serbia gets its oil via the JANAF oil pipeline from Croatia.

Air Products to Invest About $500 Million to Build Green Hydrogen Production Facility in New York

Air Products, the world leader in hydrogen production and a first mover developing and executing low carbon hydrogen megaprojects driving the energy transition, today announced plans to invest approximately $500 million to build, own and operate a 35 metric ton per day facility to produce green liquid hydrogen at a greenfield site in Massena, New York, as well as liquid hydrogen distribution and dispensing operations. Blue Cap Mining partners with LINE Hydrogen for WA's first carbon-neutral mine

LINE Hydrogen, an Australian-owned, independent green hydrogen energy company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Blue Cap Mining Pty Ltd to develop the energy requirements for Blue Cap's Lord Byron Gold Mine in Western Australia. The new mining project will be the first carbon-neutral mine in WA and one of only two active mines in Australia to reach the milestone.

Fluor Awarded Two Contracts for the BASF Zhanjiang Verbund Site Project in China

Fluor announced that the company was awarded two reimbursable engineering, procurement and construction management contracts by BASF for the ethylene oxide/ethylene glycol and infrastructure, offsites and utilities packages as part of the company’s new Verbund program in Zhanjiang, Guangdong province, China. The contract value to Fluor is more than $2 billion and was booked in the third quarter of 2022.

Consortium, led by Hyphen Technical, awarded grant funding for Green Hydrogen Dual-Fuel Locomotive Pilot Project in Namibia

A consortium led by hydrogen application development company, Hyphen Technical, comprising of TransNamib Holdings Limited, University of Namibia, CMB.TECH and Traxtion has been awarded grant funding for development of Africa’s first dual-fuel hydrogen-diesel locomotives. The project, called HyRail Namibia, will use Namibian produced green hydrogen supplied from the Cleanergy Solutions Namibia Green Hydrogen facility near Walvis Bay to power the hydrogen dual fuel locomotives.

INEOS awards contract to Atkins to design its world scale low carbon hydrogen plant at Grangemouth

Qatar: TotalEnergies Selected as QatarEnergy’s First Partner in the North Field South LNG project

Following its selection as the first partner for the 32 million ton per annum (Mtpa) North Field East (NFE) liquefied natural gas (LNG) project, TotalEnergies has again been selected as the first international partner in the 16 Mtpa North Field South (NFS) LNG project. Siemens commissions one of Germany’s largest green hydrogen generation plants

In Wunsiedel, Upper Franconia, one of Germany’s largest green hydrogen generation plants has been planned digitally and commissioned by Siemens, demonstrating the key role hydrogen can play in Germany’s energy future. Around one year after the official groundbreaking ceremony, Bavaria’s Minister-President Markus Söder, Siemens Managing Board member Matthias Rebellius and Siemens Financial Services CEO Veronika Bienert handed over the plant to the operating company WUN H2, represented by Managing Directors Thilo Rießner and Philipp Matthes.

State Power Investment Corporation and Templewater sign Strategic Cooperation Agreement for Green Hydrogen in the Greater Bay Area

HyCC and VNG to jointly develop green hydrogen projects for decarbonization of Central Germany

The Dutch hydrogen company HyCC and the German gas company VNG AG have launched project “GreenRoot” for the development of large-scale green hydrogen production to help industries in Central Germany reduce their CO2-emissions. The two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) towards this end at an existing electrolysis facility in Bitterfeld.
