REUP Project Adds Wood Group for FEED Duties

Pakistan Refinery Limited (PRL) has signed an agreement with Wood Group UK Limited (Wood) in Dubai on May 19, 2022 appointing them as the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) Contractor for the Refinery Expansion and Upgrade Project (REUP). The Contract was signed by Mr. Zahid Mir, CEO and MD of PRL and Mr. Daniel Jennings, Head of Commercial, UK Projects of Wood. The signing ceremony was attended by Syed M. Taha, MD & CEO of Pakistan State Oil (PSO) and a member of PRL Board of Directors, certain other Board members and the leadership team of PRL, and senior representatives of Wood.

TA’ZIZ and Reliance Sign Shareholder Agreement for Ruwais Chemicals Project

Abu Dhabi Chemicals Derivatives Company RSC Ltd (TA’ZIZ) and Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), have signed the formal Shareholder Agreement for the TA’ZIZ EDC & PVC project. Reliance is India’s largest diversified conglomerate and a strategic partner with Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and ADQ, an Abu Dhabi-based investment and holding company, in TA’ZIZ EDC & PVC, a world-scale chemicals development at the TA’ZIZ Industrial Chemicals Zone in Ruwais. The TA’ZIZ EDC & PVC joint venture will construct and operate a Chlor-Alkali, Ethylene Dichloride (EDC) and Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) production facility, with a total investment of over $2 billion (AED 7.34 billion).

ADNOC and RIL Partner on Ruwais Petrochemical Facility

Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) recently announced that through its investment platform with ADQ named TA’ZIZ, it has signed an agreement with Reliance Industries Limited of India for a new world-scale chlor-alkali, ethylene dichloride and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) production facility at the TA’ZIZ Industrial Zone in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi. Reliance has stated that this facility will require an investment of $2 billion USD.

QatarEnergy announces long-term LNG supply agreement with China’s S&T International

QatarEnergy announced today that its LNG producing affiliate, Qatar Liquified Gas Company Limited (2), entered into a long-term Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with S&T International Natural Gas Trading Company Limited (S&T) for the supply of one million tons per annum of LNG to China over a 15-year period starting in late 2022.

230,000 bpd Refinery in Oman to Start Up in Early 2023

The often-delayed Duqm refinery in southern Oman is now anticipated to begin its operations in the first quarter of 2023, according to the project operator. The 230,000 barrel per day refinery is a 50/50 joint venture between the state owned OQ and Kuwait Petroleum International, known collectively as the Duqm Refinery and Petrochemical Industries Company.

QatarEnergy and Korea’s Hydrogen Convergence Alliance (H2Korea) signed an agreement for cooperation in the field of hydrogen energy. The agreement provides a framework of cooperation in the development of the hydrogen sector in both countries, encouraging growth of the hydrogen industry and expansion of the hydrogen supply chain, in addition to supporting efforts within multilateral fora to accelerate cooperation for hydrogen related technologies worldwide.
