Sempra Infrastructure Receives Export Licenses for Two LNG Projects
Sempra Infrastructure, a subsidiary of Sempra today announced that Energía Costa Azul, S. de R.L. de C.V. (ECA LNG) and Vista Pacifico, S.A.P.I. de C.V. (Vista Pacifico LNG) received authorization from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to re-export U.S.-sourced liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Mexico to non-Free Trade Agreement (FTA) nations. The DOE's significant action is an important milestone for these two development projects, which now are each one step closer to supporting the world's energy security and environmental goals.
Woodside Energy awards liquefaction contract for H2OK
Woodside Energy has awarded a major contract to Air Liquide Engineering and Construction (Air Liquide) for the liquefaction equipment at its proposed H2OK hydrogen project in Ardmore, Oklahoma. In accordance with the contract, Air Liquide will provide the engineering and fabrication of two 30 tonne per day liquefaction units which will liquefy hydrogen produced through electrolysis in preparation for storage, loading and transportation to customers.
Technip Energies Awarded a Proprietary Equipment Contract by Chevron Phillips Chemical and QatarEnergy for the Golden Triangle Polymers Ethane Cracker
Technip Energies has been awarded a contract for the supply of proprietary cracking furnaces for the 2,000 kta(2) ethane cracker for the Golden Triangle Polymers project, a joint venture between Chevron Phillips Chemical (CPChem) and QatarEnergy, along the Gulf Coast in Orange, Texas.
Iberdrola partners with ABEL Energy on green hydrogen and methanol project in Tasmania
Iberdrola Australia and hydrogen developer ABEL Energy announced that they will be working together to deliver a green hydrogen and green methanol production facility at Bell Bay, in northern Tasmania, backed by new renewable energy generation within the state. The total estimated capital requirement for the methanol and renewable energy project is in the order of A$1.7 billion.
Northern Lights awards ship management contract to “K” LINE
Northern Lights JV DA and Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (“K” LINE) have signed contracts for “K” LINE to operate the two first 7,500 m3 liquefied CO2 ships. The ships will be delivered in 2024 and will contribute to the world’s first full-scale carbon capture and storage (CCS) value chain.

Lhyfe and Schaeffler enter cooperation agreement to build industrial green hydrogen plant in Germany
Green hydrogen producer Lhyfe and Schaeffler, a leading global supplier to the automotive and industrial sectors, have signed an agreement to boost green hydrogen production in Bavaria (Germany). The plan is to build and operate an electrolysis plant on Schaeffler’s factory premises in Herzogenaurach, Franconia with a capacity of up to 15 megawatts. Other regional players will also be supplied with green hydrogen from the plant at Schaeffler.

Air Products and The AES Corporation announced plans to invest approximately $4 billion to build, own and operate a green hydrogen production facility in Wilbarger County, Texas. This mega-scale renewable power to hydrogen project includes approximately 1.4 gigawatts (GW) of wind and solar power generation, along with electrolyzer capacity capable of producing over 200 metric tons per day (MT/D) of green hydrogen, making it the largest green hydrogen facility in the United States.
Aramco and TotalEnergies to build a giant petrochemical complex in Saudi Arabia
The Saudi Arabian Oil Company (“Aramco”) and TotalEnergies have taken the final investment decision for the construction of a world scale petrochemical facility in Saudi Arabia. The “Amiral” complex will be owned, operated, and integrated with the existing SATORP refinery located in Jubail on Saudi Arabia’s eastern coast. The investment decision is subject to customary closing conditions and approvals.

280-Mile Hydrogen Pipeline Connecting Spain to France to Cost $2.6 Billion
An underwater pipeline set to carry green hydrogen between Spain and France will cost about 2.5 billion euros ($2.6 billion), Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said on Friday, adding he hoped the European Union would partly fund the project. The pipeline between Barcelona and Marseille will have a capacity of 2 million tonnes a year and be ready by the end of the decade, Sanchez said at a summit of Mediterranean European Union leaders in the southeastern Spanish port city of Alicante.
Savannah Energy Acquires Exxon’s 672-Mile Chad-Cameroon Pipeline
Exxon Mobil Corp. on Friday closed a $407 million sale of its operations in Central Africa's Chad and Cameroon to London-listed firm Savannah Energy Plc. The deal will see the British firm will take over Exxon's 40% indirect interest in the Chad-Cameroon export transportation system — a 1,081-km (672-mile) pipeline and floating storage and offloading facility offshore in Cameroon. Savannah has operated in Nigeria and Niger.
INEOS and SINOPEC sign Joint Venture agreement for a brand new petrochemicals complex in Tianjin, China
INEOS and SINOPEC have today announced a new Joint Venture agreement that will see INEOS acquire a 50% share in the existing Tianjin Nangang Ethylene Project from SINOPEC. The project is currently building a 1.2 million tonne ethane cracker, expected to come on-stream at the end of 2023, and downstream derivative plants in Tianjin, China.

Canada's TC Energy Gets Approval to Expand NGTL Gas Pipeline System
(Reuters) — The Canadian government on Wednesday approved an expansion to TC Energy's NOVA Gas Transmission Ltd (NGTL) pipeline system in Alberta, which will help improve market access for western Canadian natural gas. The West Path Delivery 2023 (WP2023) project will add about 40 km (25 miles) of new natural gas pipeline to the existing 25,000-km (15,534 miles) NGTL system, which ships gas across Canada and to U.S. markets.

TES and EWE to build 500-MW electrolyzer at Wilhelmshaven Green Energy Hub
Tree Energy Solutions (TES) and EWE are delighted to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to build an electrolyzer in TES’ Green Energy Hub in Wilhelmshaven. The electrolyzer is to be installed and operated starting in 2028. The planned capacity of the electrolyzer is 500 MW and one more unit is planned to reach a total capacity of 1 GW. This MoU is in line with Germany’s strategic energy policy to develop clean energy generated by the North Sea and broaden the possible supply for H2. The signing marks a joint interest in delivering national energy security as Germany continues to diversify its energy supply from renewable energy sources.
