Thyssenkrupp Uhde has been selected as technology provider and partner for a new “Clean Ammonia” plant planned by Nutrien, the world's largest provider of crop inputs and services. Subject to Nutrien’s final investment decision, anticipated in 2023, the plant will have a capacity of 3,500 metric tons/day and be built at Nutrien’s Geismar, Louisiana, USA facility. More than 90% of the CO2 emissions will be captured and stored (Carbon Capture and Storage).

Fluor Awarded Contract for Imperial Renewable Diesel Project in Canada
Fluor Corporation (NYSE: FLR) was awarded a reimbursable front-end engineering and detailed design, engineering and procurement services contract for Imperial as the company progresses plans to develop a world-class renewable diesel complex at its Strathcona refinery near Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The new complex is expected to be the largest renewable diesel production facility in Canada and will produce approximately 20,000 barrels of renewable diesel per day from locally sourced feedstocks.

The Finnish companies Flexens and HydRe are preparing to pilot green hydrogen in Lempäälä, Finland. Flexens plans a small-scale green hydrogen production unit to be attached to Finland’s first hydrogen refuelling station. HydRe will provide the refuelling station.

Two projects by Italian multinational corporations Enel Green Power and Eni to develop green hydrogen through electrolyzers fueled by renewable energy will receive public funding approved under IPCEI Hy2Use, a project of common European interest aimed at supporting research and innovation and construction of related infrastructure to enable the first industrial applications of hydrogen. Prairie Energy Partners LLC, a subsidiary of Southern Rock Energy Partners LLC of Texas, has begun the process of site selection for its proposed $5.6 billion refinery complex, which is expected to be a next generation complex with a focus on decarbonization technologies. According to the Texas operator, the sites being considered are in Victoria County, Texas and Lincoln County, Oklahoma.
Hungary, Serbia Agree to Build Pipeline to Ship Russian Oil to Serbia
Hungary and Serbia have agreed to build a pipeline to supply Serbia with Russian Urals crude via the Druzhba oil pipeline as Belgrade's shipments via Croatia fall under EU sanctions, the Hungarian government said on Monday. Last week the European Union agreed on new restrictions against Russia over its war against Ukraine, which include an oil price cap for Russian seaborne crude deliveries to third countries. Serbia gets its oil via the JANAF oil pipeline from Croatia.

Blue Cap Mining partners with LINE Hydrogen for WA's first carbon-neutral mine
LINE Hydrogen, an Australian-owned, independent green hydrogen energy company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Blue Cap Mining Pty Ltd to develop the energy requirements for Blue Cap's Lord Byron Gold Mine in Western Australia. The new mining project will be the first carbon-neutral mine in WA and one of only two active mines in Australia to reach the milestone.
