Petronas and CNOOC Sign 10-Year LNG Supply Agreement

PETRONAS LNG Ltd. (PLL), a subsidiary of PETRONAS, has secured a 10-year term deal to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) to CNOOC Gas and Power Trading & Marketing Limited, a subsidiary of China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC).

Maire Tecnimont Wins EPCC Contract in India

In early July, Maire Tecnimont S.p.A. of Italy announced that its subsidiaries Tecnimont S.p.A. and Tecnimont Private Ltd have formed a consortium that has won an EPCC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning) contract by Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) for a new polypropylene plant in Barauni, India. Maire Tecnimont stated that the overall contract value was for $170 million USD.

Masdar wins tender for 200 MW solar power project in Armenia

The Government of Armenia has officially selected Masdar, one of the world’s leading renewable energy companies, as the winning bidder for the tender for a utility-scale solar project. The Armenian Government had implemented an international tender following Masdar’s initial offer of $0,0299/kWh in December 2019. After a competitive process, Masdar submitted a final price of $0,0290/kWh.

BOEM Announces Environmental Review of Proposed Wind Energy Facility Offshore Virginia

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) announced in late June that it plans to award EPC contracts by the end of July for a pair of state-owned Nigerian Refineries. To mark International Sun Day, which is observed to raise awareness of solar energy as a renewable energy source to drive the energy transition, in coexistence with biodiversity and the environment, Iberdrola has commissioned the 328-MW Ceclavín photovoltaic plant in Extremadura. The project is being commissioned following an investment of 250 million euros, which has given a significant boost to local employment. At peak times during the construction stage, more than 1,140 workers were employed on the project, 60 % of them from nearby towns and other places in Extremadura.

Repsol unveils Kappa, its first PV solar farm

Repsol's first PV solar farm, Kappa, has been officially opened today. Located in the town of Manzanares, in the central Spanish province of Ciudad Real, the farm represents an investment of €100 million and boasts a total installed capacity of 126.6 MW distributed across three plants. Two of these, Perseo Fotón I and Perseo Fotón II, are already operational, with a combined capacity of 90.5 MW. The third plant, Perseo Fotón III, is still under development. It will add another 36.1 MW when it comes online.
